My Goals and Backstory
Okay, so here are my cards on the table: I am a disabled veteran who has struggled with PTSD, Major Depressive Disorder, and Anxiety since my time in the Army from 2006 to 2012. Having witnessed a lot of suicides due to untreated mental health issues, I have decided to do what I can to help. The biggest hurdle when I speak to fellow veterans about treatment is that, even if the treatment is free, they can’t afford to be away from work for that long to focus on themselves because of bills and being the sole provider. My main motivation for these charity rides is to help prevent veteran suicide by eliminating the obstacles that keep them from seeking self-help treatment.
